B.C. Adult Salmon Diet Program

he BC Adult Salmon Diet Program (ASDP) is a project that seeks to characterize the diets of Chinook and Coho Salmon throughout the year through the contribution of stomachs by recreational anglers. The program was started in 2017 by Will Duguid (PhD) through his connections with the recreational angler community. The program has grown to include 14 depots and over 50 participants.

As of March 2022 the ASDP program has collected and processed 2997 Chinook Salmon and 476 Coho Salmon digestive tracts from recreational anglers. 

Pacific Salmon Foundation has developed a storymap about the diet of Pacific salmon using program data. Check it out!
